Our Story

Bonita Bay is a meticulously and thoughtfully designed 2,400-acre, master planned, gated, member-owned community. Our deep respect for nature and environmental stewardship is at the heart of how our Bonita Bay was originally designed in the 1980’s and that core value continues today.

More than 1,400 acres are devoted to coexisting with nature – from the scenic open space, expansive nature-preserves, hundreds of lakes, lush, tropical landscaping, miles of biking and walking paths and waterfront parks.

It’s not just the natural environment that draws people to Bonita Bay. There is something for everyone in the way of home styles with our 56 neighborhoods – from cozy coach homes, to single family and villas, to high-rise luxury residences. And no community in all of Southwest Florida has a greater abundance of recreational and social opportunities than Bonita Bay.

Through the member-owned Bonita Bay Club, residents can enjoy 90 holds of championship golf, 18 Har-Tru® tennis courts, a newly renovated 10,000 square foot fitness center and spa, and a magnificent new clubhouse offers dining options that range from casual, open-air to intimate and formal.

The full-service Bonita Bay Marina offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico via Imperial River and Estero Bay, with wet slips, dry storage, a ships store and other amenities.

The Bonita Bay Community Association also offers a vast array of program and activities to appeal to the diverse interests of our residents, from thought-provoking lectures, to art and cooking classes, to excursions to local attractions. We also have more than two dozen active clubs running the gamut from singing to bocce to pickleball.

We could go on and on about the natural beauty and the outstanding amenities of Bonita Bay. We could brag about our neighbors - who have become our friends or you can learn more through the pages of our website. But to truly know Bonita Bay, we encourage you to come and visit with us!
